After releasing ‘Chop’ and ‘Earjazzm’ as part of Battle Ave’s release ‘At The Ave Breaks 5’, we – Starlight – follow up with this self-released digi single + limited edition 45 on which you can find ‘Winter Boogie’ and ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’.
‘Winter Boogie’ is a Latin-fused groovy boom bap jam in which Delightfull explores melodic horn scratching and funky vocal phrasing.
‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ is a quirky cinematic joint with a vast array of sounds and instruments which is about “dusty eccentric collections” of things, referring to the historical phenomenon of cabinets of curiosities but also the our own studios, basements or just living rooms which are in a similar sense our modern day wonder rooms, full of objects that influence and shape our feelings and thoughts.
The bonus beats include parts of the tracks as well as clean drum breaks, one open bass line, some acapella phrases and some sounds, all arranged at the BPM of the actual tracks – just the goodie goodies that the djs need.
